As all the aspirant of UPSC[ Union public service commission ] is the board which conduct various type of civil service exams. This type of civil service exam are also known as UPSC IAS exams .

1 . Prelim exam  :  This exam consist of two part general studies paper 1 and general studies paper 2 which comprise of 200 marks .

Note :The mark score by the aspirant in the prelim exam will not be considered in the main exams of UPSC this exam only give the qualifying rank for the main exam .

2 Main exam : This main exam consist of descriptive part of exam this exam consist of nine exam , but the marks of 7 exam will only get counted for the merit of final exam . For the rest of two exam the aspirant should score minimum marks which is decided by UPSC board  to get selected for the next phase of exam .

3 Interview ; This the last and the final phase of exam and it consider to be one the most difficult phase of exam . It consist of interview which is taken by panel of UPSC board and the question asked by them to aspirant consist of general interest and they might test aspirant general knowledge . but it is very important that aspirant should not get panic or nervous while answering the question aspirant should be quite confident while giving answers.
